Szeklerland is still a cultural landscape: medieval European landscape usage is still to be found, its structure of settlements reflects the specifics of military
democracy and it has always been careful of change. Agriculture still uses horses beside tractors. During socialism the Szekler rural community started falling apart and this process is reflected by the landscape, the image of settlements and today’s local architecture lacking the architect.
