Genetic studies on forest species are the subject of forestry genetics. In addition to basic research, forestry genetics analyses in practice forest plant breeding, controlling reproductive material, testing the seed source stands and conservation of genetic resources. The process requires several intermediate steps from sampling to genetic analysis. The genetic study of the Gheorgheni basin forests is an interesting challenge for the future.
